Anthony Fasani
Entered the Conventual Franciscan order in 1695. Ordained in 1705. Taught
philosophy to younger friars, served as guardian of his friary, provincial
of the order, master of novices, and finally pastor in his hometown.
Sought after confessor and preacher, a loyal friend of the poor, never
hesitating to seek from benefactors what was needed. At his death,
children ran through the streets crying, "The saint is dead! The saint is
dead!"

Beatified: 15 April 1951 by Pope Pius XII
Canonized: 13 April 1986 by Pope John Paul II

love of God and neighbor; fired by the Spirit, he made use of the words
and deed of Holy Scripture, stirring his listeners and moving them to do
penance.
