Born in Québec, Canada, 1897;
died 1929; beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1993. When Dina joined the
Sisters of Jesus-Marie in Rome (founded by Saint Claudine Thevenet), she
took the name Marie Sainte-Cecile of Rome to honor the patron of musicians
because she was herself an accomplished pianist. During the course of her
life as a sister, her devotion to the Blessed Sacrament transformed her
into a woman of infectious joy despite illness. Her autobiography was
published in Québec in 1984 (Catholic World News, May 1, 1997).
